15 dead, 25 hurt in Peki–Tsame road crash

At least 15 people died and 25 were injured after two commercial vehicles collided head-on along the Peki–Tsame road in the Volta Region.
The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Both vehicles were carrying a total of 40 passengers.
Ghana National Fire Service teams responded and pulled 25 survivors from the wreckage. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue.
Volta Regional Fire Service PRO ADO1 Hope Bedzrah said preliminary findings point to a head-on collision. He added that rescuers arrived to find passengers trapped in both vehicles and immediately began rescue efforts.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
