Former NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Tema West, Dennis Amfo Sefah, has begun relief support for residents of Community 5 Church Village following devastating floods that left families displaced and distressed.
Amfo Sefah, together with the Tema West NPP Constituency Chairman and members of the constituency executive, visited the affected community on Wednesday to commiserate with victims. He described the scenes as heartbreaking, with families losing belongings, children displaced, and many struggling to cope.
“As a son of Tema West, I could not remain indifferent to their suffering,” Amfo Sefah said. “I want the good people of Community 5 Church Village to know that they are not alone. We stand with them, we feel their pain, and we are committed to supporting them as they rebuild their lives.”
With support from friends and well wishers, his team has started providing breakfast every morning to affected residents. In the coming days, they plan to distribute mosquito nets, blankets, bales of used clothing, student mattresses, and food items to ease the burden on families.
He called the moment “a time for compassion, unity, and service” and urged the public to support neighbours and help restore hope to those hit by the disaster.
“May God comfort every family, protect our community, and grant strength to all those working to bring relief to the victims,” he added.
The flooding in Community 5 Church Village occurred on Tuesday, with several households reporting extensive property damage. Local authorities are still assessing the full impact.
