Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the newly elected national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party's 2026 National Annual Delegates Conference held in Kumasi.
In a statement issued after the conference, the former President commended the outgone National Executives Committee led by former Acting National Chairman Danquah Smith Buttey, as well as the National Officers Elections Committee chaired by Hon. Frederick Opare-Ansah, and all delegates for the successful organization of the conference.
"The Conference has, once again, demonstrated the vibrancy of the New Patriotic Party's internal democratic processes," former President Akufo-Addo said.
He also congratulated the newly elected national executive officers led by new Chairman John Boadu and wished them a fruitful mandate.
According to him, the successful conclusion of the conference should mark the beginning of a collective march towards the party's aspirations.
"The conclusion of the Conference must mark the beginning of the progressive march of the Party's collective aspirations as 'One Party, with One Purpose, United for Victory'," he stated.
Mr. Akufo-Addo called for unity among all party members to ensure victory in the 2028 general elections.
"The time has come for all hands on deck so that the Party can emerge victorious from the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections to enable a new NPP government under the leadership of the NPP's Presidential Candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, to be formed to promote the rule of law and the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian."
He ended by praying for the party and the nation, saying "May God bless the New Patriotic Party and may God bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong."
