The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Ralph Poku-Adusei, has charged the youth wing of the New Patriotic Party to lead the party's grassroots revival ahead of the 2028 general elections.
This came to light when the MP hosted newly elected executives of the Kokofu Nursing and Midwifery Training College (KNMTC) branch of TESCON and the Bekwai Constituency executives at his residence.
According to Hon. Poku-Adusei, the meeting was aimed at deepening collaboration between the constituency and the student wing and to align their activities towards the NPP's return to power.
He said the NPP's path to victory in 2028 will rest on four key pillars: party unity, disciplined grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment and effective communication of the party's record and alternative policies.
"Our discussions focused on the broader vision and strategy of the NPP to return to power in 2028 — anchored on unity, disciplined grassroots mobilization, youth empowerment, and the effective communication of our record and alternative policy proposition to Ghanaians," he said.
The Bekwai lawmaker stressed that bringing TESCON leaders and constituency executives together was critical to building relationships, sharing ideas and coordinating a common approach to political mobilisation.
He described the engagement as an opportunity to "fraternise, strategise and deepen collaboration between TESCON and the Constituency as we chart a common path forward."
Hon. Poku-Adusei urged the new TESCON leadership led by President Asiedu Richard Adofo to be exemplary, urging them to balance academic excellence with responsible political leadership.
"I charged the new executives to provide responsible, inclusive and results-oriented leadership, remain academically focused, and serve as credible ambassadors of the party on campus," he noted.
He added that the NPP cannot win 2028 with isolated campus activism, but through sustained cooperation between student groups and constituency structures to build a strong and energized youth front.
"Together with the Constituency leadership, we are committed to building a stronger, more energized youth front to secure victory in 2028," he emphasized.
He congratulated the newly elected executives and pledged his support to work with them to strengthen the party at the grassroots.
