Bole-Bamboi MP Hon. Yusif Sulemana Joins Hundreds in Larabanga for Jintigi Prayers to Mark Sacred Day of Ashura 1448 AH

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has joined the people of Larabanga for the special Jintigi prayers to mark the Day of Ashura.
Hon. Sulemana participated in the prayers on Thursday alongside the Savannah Regional NDC Chairman, describing the gathering as “a moving sight.”
“Today, I had the honour of joining the people of Larabanga, together with the Savannah Regional NDC Chairman, for the special Jintigi prayers,” he said.
“It was a moving sight to see people from far and near gather as one community united in faith and purpose, to seek Allah's blessings, protection, and guidance for the year ahead.”
*Significance of Ashura*
The Deputy Minister noted that the event coincided with the sacred Day of Ashura, the 10th of Muharram 1448 AH, which he described as “a blessed opportunity for repentance, reflection, and renewed devotion to Allah.”
Citing a narration reported by Ibn Abbas, Hon. Sulemana said the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ singled out the fast of Ashura as holding exceptional merit, second only to the obligatory fasts of Ramadan.

*Call for prayer and reflection*
Hon. Sulemana urged Muslims to use the blessed hours for supplication and remembrance of Allah.
“Let us, therefore, make the most of these blessed hours by making du'a, and remembering Allah constantly,” he said.
“May Allah accept our efforts, forgive our sins, and shower His peace and blessings upon our community, our leaders, and our beloved nation. Aamen.”
The Jintigi prayers in Larabanga traditionally draw worshippers from across the Savannah Region and beyond to mark the Day of Ashura.
