The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Dr. Yusif Sulemana, has joined the chiefs and people of Mandari to celebrate their maiden homecoming durbar.
The durbar served as a platform for the youth and opinion leaders of the community to share ideas on ways to bring development and social change to the area. It also afforded key stakeholders the opportunity to highlight government interventions in the lives of the people.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Yusif Sulemana recounted some of the developmental projects and programs he has personally championed in the community over the years and pledged to continue working hand in hand with all stakeholders, especially the youth, to bring the needed development.
He identified water and sanitation, education, health care and drug abuse as major challenges facing the community that need attention from all stakeholders.
On behalf of President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the MP pledged to drill and mechanise three boreholes in the community and to ensure that the issue of furniture shortage in their schools becomes a thing of the past.
Hon. Sulemana also made a personal cash donation of GHS10,000 and an additional pledge of GHS100,000 to the organizers of the homecoming as his contribution towards resolving some of the pressing challenges of the community.
He further pledged to support the community to construct a community centre for the people of Mandari.
