Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Dr. Yusif Sulemana, has welcomed the decision to host this year's Mallam Issah Volleyball Championship in Bole District.
The announcement was made when the CEO of the Mallam Issah Foundation and his delegation paid a courtesy call on the MP at his residence earlier this morning. The meeting was attended by the District Chief Executive for Bole, Hon. Mahmud Abdulai, and the Patron of Bole Legends Volleyball Club, Mr. Adam Iddrisu.
According to Hon. Dr. Sulemana, the Championship is an initiative aimed at promoting volleyball, discovering and nurturing young talents, and connecting emerging players with legends of the game for mentorship and inspiration.
As part of its commitment to the tournament, the Foundation presented a $3,000 token towards its organisation and appealed for the support of stakeholders.
The MP commended the organisers for choosing Bole as host and lauded the commitment of the DCE and the District Assembly, particularly steps towards securing land for the construction of volleyball courts.
He also acknowledged the commitment of the NDC Regional Chairman, Alhaji Imoro Seidu (Man Blessing), towards the construction of two modern volleyball courts in Bole.
"I appreciate the Patron of the Bole Legends Volleyball Club, Mr. Adam Iddrisu, for acknowledging the support my office has extended to the Club over the years. I remain committed to working with the Club, the Assembly and all stakeholders to nurture young talent and use sports as a platform to create opportunities for the youth of Bole," Hon. Dr. Sulemana stated.
