The Federation of Ghana Medical Students' Associations (FGMSA) has initiated legal action concerning the Medical and Dental Council's Common Registration Examination (CRE) and its implications for affected graduating students.
In a press statement dated October 20, 2026, FGMSA said the action reflects concerns regarding the implementation of the examination and its implications for students approaching professional qualification and registration.
"FGMSA remains committed to constructive engagement, fairness, due process, and the protection of students' legitimate interests within Ghana's medical and dental education system," the statement said.
The Federation said as the matter is now before the court, it will respect the judicial process and refrain from commenting on issues that may prejudice the proceedings.
It urged the public, stakeholders and the media to allow the legal process to proceed without speculation, adding that further developments will be communicated through its official channels when appropriate.
The statement was issued by the National Executive Council of FGMSA.
