Ghana’s economy is on course to grow even faster than the International Monetary Fund now expects, according to Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The IMF has revised Ghana’s 2026 growth projection upwards, from 4.6% in April to 5.7%, but Dr. Forson says the country will go beyond that figure.
He gave the assurance after meeting the Director of the IMF’s African Department, Zeine Zeidane, on the sidelines of the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to him, government will stay the course on fiscal discipline and the bold reforms driving Ghana’s economic recovery, adding that those measures are already yielding results.
“The IMF has upgraded Ghana’s 2026 growth forecast from 4.6% to 5.7%. We are confident we will exceed that projection,” Dr. Forson stated.
