The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Ahmed Ibrahim, says his reassignment from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs was divinely guided.
Ahmed Ibrahim was moved to the Works, Housing and Water Resources Ministry in President John Mahama's ministerial reshuffle on August 7, 2026.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony for his successor, Mahama Ayariga, on Tuesday, September 1, Mr. Ibrahim recounted that he was on the pulpit delivering a sermon at the Global Evangelical Church when news of the reshuffle reached him.
He said he was handed a Bible at that very moment, an experience he considers significant, especially with the presence of the Christian Council of Ghana at the handing-over ceremony.
"I am happy and I know the hand of God is in my reshuffle. As I stated, on the 7th of August, I was on the Global Evangelical Church pulpit when the news came that I had been reshuffled, and I was given a Bible," he said.
According to him, the coincidence reinforced his conviction that the reassignment was part of a bigger plan.
Ahmed Ibrahim has since taken charge of the Works, Housing and Water Resources Ministry, while Mahama Ayariga now heads the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
