Gov't Launches Phase Two Of Public Sector Reforms To Improve Service Delivery

Government has commenced the implementation of the second phase of the National Public Sector Reform Strategy aimed at revitalising public institutions and enhancing public service delivery.

Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, said the new phase of reforms is focused on improving institutional performance and tackling inefficiencies in the public sector.

She disclosed this at the 10th edition of Burkina Faso's Human Resource Café 2026 held in Accra.

According to her, the Public Sector Reform Secretariat is committed to transforming how public institutions operate to ensure more effective service delivery.

She explained that the reform agenda seeks to reduce inefficiencies, strengthen transparency and accountability, promote professionalism and develop human capital, while leveraging digital technology to improve service delivery.

"The Public Sector Reform Secretariat, with its mandate to provide initiation, strategic guidance, and coordination for public sector reforms, remains committed to transforming the way public institutions operate and deliver services," she stated.

Madam Akanvariba said these objectives are being pursued through the National Public Sector Reform Strategy II, which will provide a framework for improving efficiency and effectiveness in public institutions.
