Gunmen Attack Adwoa Safo’s Vehicle, Ex-MP Receiving Treatment

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Adwoa Safo is receiving medical treatment after her vehicle was allegedly shot at near the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, also known as Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
The reported attack happened on Sunday at Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena’s home. He was said to be meeting supporters as part of efforts to succeed his late father, Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo.
*Police Respond to Shooting*
Officers from the Dome District Command were alerted and quickly moved to the scene as tensions rose.
Witnesses claim Adwoa Safo was in the area when armed men, allegedly acting on the orders of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, opened fire on her vehicle. About 15 rounds were reportedly fired. One bullet is said to have grazed the former MP near her neck.

Adwoa Safo was rushed for medical care and is currently being treated. Sources close to her say she is in stable condition.
*Succession Dispute*
The incident comes amid growing tension within the Kristo Asafo family over who succeeds the late Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo. The process is already facing legal challenges, with some family members opposing moves to install Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena as the next leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
The Ghana Police Service had not issued an official statement on the shooting at the time of this report. Investigations are expected to determine what happened and identify those behind the attack.
