High Court Dismisses ‘No Case’ Submission in Republic v Solomon Asamoah & Another Skytrain Case

The High Court has dismissed the Submission of No Case filed by lawyers for the accused persons in the Republic v Solomon Asamoah & Another, otherwise known as the Skytrain case.

According to a court update, after the close of the Prosecution’s case, the accused persons filed a Submission of No Case, urging the court to acquit and discharge them on the grounds that, in their opinion, no case had been made against them by the Prosecution.

The Court, however, disagreed with the submission. It affirmed that “the Prosecution has discharged its burden of proving that a case exist for them to answer.”

Following the ruling, the accused persons have been ordered to open their Defence if they wish to do so.
