The Chairperson of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has led a Ghanaian delegation to a high-level meeting at the Regional Office of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Dakar, Senegal.
Hon. Anim, who is the Member of Parliament for Kumawu, led a delegation comprising members of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee, the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between OHCHR, Parliament and CHRAJ in advancing human rights in Ghana.
Discussions centred on Ghana’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) recommendations, the country’s international human rights reporting obligations, and strategies to enhance human rights protection, accountability and institutional cooperation.
The engagement is expected to deepen partnership between Ghana’s Parliament, CHRAJ and the UN human rights body, and to support ongoing efforts to improve human rights governance in the country.
