Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has distributed productive machines to constituents under the Kobby Youth Investment Initiative Fund.
Speaking after the distribution yesterday in Takoradi, Hon. Darko-Mensah said the items included “sewing machines, hair dryers, popcorn machines, wovens, and welding machines.”
“This initiative, which I have passionately championed for the past 15 years, is about more than just tools; it’s a vision to empower our youth and hardworking residents to forge their own paths to sustainable income and lasting wealth,” he stated.
He noted that “As people of the Western Region, we possess abundant resources; now, with the right assets, we can truly prosper.”
According to him, “We are not merely handing out machines; we are igniting the spirit of determination and self-reliance.” Drawing inspiration from the Igbo and Ashanti model of mutual support, he said he envisions “a Takoradi Prosperity Scheme where today’s beneficiaries become tomorrow’s supporters, creating a cycle of growth and opportunity.”
Hon. Darko-Mensah added that “This support is open to all residents of Takoradi Constituency, regardless of political affiliation. Together, we are building a more prosperous future.”
