The Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency and Chairperson of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has donated and installed streetlights at the Kumawu Market Square Electoral Area to improve visibility and security for traders.
The gesture, undertaken last night, is aimed at supporting hardworking market women and traders who operate in the area.
Hon. Anim also donated streetlights to support households in the Wonoo Community, stressing that every home deserves light.
Speaking on the initiative, the MP expressed delight at seeing the Kumawu Market Square shining brightly, noting that mothers can now trade safely even in the evening.
"We are taking it step by step, but Kumawu will shine," he said.
The intervention is expected to enhance safety, boost evening trading activities, and improve living conditions for residents in both Kumawu Market Square and Wonoo.
