Kwadwo Safo, Two Others Arrested Over Adwoa Safo Shooting

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Israel Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Akofena, in connection with the shooting of former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Police say Kwadwo Safo turned himself in at the Regional Police Headquarters on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was then moved to the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters to help with investigations.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
*Weapons and Ammunition Recovered*
A search of his home and car in Kwabenya uncovered:
- 120 rounds of 9mm ammunition
- 50 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition
- 25 rounds of .40 calibre ammunition
- Additional loaded magazines
- Two Glock pistols, with one registered in his name
*Two More Arrests*
Police also arrested Nana Kwaku Afriyie and Kwadwo Safo Koomson. Both are believed to be connected to the shooting.
All three suspects are in police custody and assisting with investigations. They are expected to appear in court on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
