NDC National Chairman aspirant, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has commended party members for maintaining peace during the recently concluded Okaikwei South constituency executive elections.
Speaking after monitoring the process, Mr. Vanderpuye expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the polls across Accra, describing the atmosphere as familial and orderly.
"First let me thank God that so far we've had good weather the whole of Accra and things are going similarly. This is my third constituency visit. I've been to... I passed through and I'm here and so far everything is... we show you a family atmosphere," he said.
He acknowledged that minor disagreements are normal in any human institution but said all such issues were swiftly resolved without escalating.
"As a human society, you may have one or two misunderstandings here and there but it has not turned into anything at all. All those misunderstandings have been resolved between the people and I'm happy that everything has been successful," he stated.
Mr. Vanderpuye said the process was nearing its end and expressed confidence that it would be concluded peacefully.
"We have just about a couple of hours to end the proceedings and then counting will be done. Nothing will happen and then we shall end this successfully and winners and losers shall all celebrate together and then unite to build a better NDC for the election 2028," he added.
