One Injured After Gas Explosion at Abanu

A gas explosion in Abanu, located in the Kpando Municipality of the Volta Region, has resulted in one injury. Reports indicate that a gas leak led to an explosion involving a gas cylinder in a two-bedroom self-contained house. The Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly to the incident, managing to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures, which could have resulted in a more serious situation. One resident suffered second-degree burns and was quickly transported to the Margaret Marquart Catholic Hospital in Kpando for treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion. Local residents have been advised to adhere to strict safety protocols when using liquefied petroleum gas to prevent similar incidents in the future.
