Education remains a top priority in his commitment to investing in the future of the Akim Oda Constituency, Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has said.
In line with that commitment, the MP has supported more than 1,000 BECE candidates who are transitioning to Senior High School, both boarding and day, with essential school items.
The items distributed included chop boxes, shito, gari, tinned fish, powdered milk, sugar, Milo, biscuits and exercise books, aimed at easing the financial burden on parents as their wards prepare for SHS.
The programme also marked the second edition of his Special Awards scheme to recognise outstanding BECE performers in the constituency.
The overall best student received a Certificate of Honour, GH¢2,000 cash and other prizes, while other awardees received certificates and GH¢1,500 each.
According to Hon. Acquah, the initiatives are intended to not only support parents but also motivate young people to strive for academic excellence and become responsible future leaders.
He reaffirmed his commitment to continue investing in education as a key driver of development in the Akim Oda Constituency.
