Police Confirm Shooting Incident Involving Adwoa Safo at Kwabenya

The Madina Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service says it is investigating a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo.
In a press release issued on June 21 and signed by Supt. Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, police confirmed the incident occurred at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
*Gunshot Injury to Left Ear*
According to preliminary investigations, the incident happened on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear while visiting her late father’s residence at Kwabenya.
The release stated that she later reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police. She presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible gunshot damage.
*Medical Attention and Forensic Probe*
Police said the former MP has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is receiving medical attention.
The vehicle has been retained for forensic examination. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify all persons involved.
The Ghana Police Service has not provided further details at this time.
