The Presidency has reminded all Ministers and political appointees of President John Mahama's resolve to enforce discipline, accountability and effective leadership across government.
In a notice issued by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Presidency said the recent ministerial reshuffle, the dissolution of some boards and the impending reshuffle of Chief Executives reflect the President's determination to strengthen institutional leadership, enhance coordination and ensure all appointees remain aligned with government policies and priorities.
The statement said President Mahama expects Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chief Executives, Board members and other appointees to discharge their duties with integrity, diligence, humility and respect for established administrative procedures.
It warned that conduct that undermines government cohesion, institutional authority or the effective implementation of government policy will not be tolerated.
"All appointees are reminded that public office is a privilege and an opportunity to serve the Ghanaian people," the notice stated, adding that performance across all sectors will continue to be assessed.
The Presidency said the President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his administration, and urged all appointees to cooperate and remain committed to delivering on the government's mandate.
