President Mahama Urges Ghanaians to Prioritize Health Screenings Over Witchcraft Blame

President *John Dramani Mahama* has called on Ghanaians to shift focus from superstition to preventive healthcare, saying many families wrongly attribute unexpected deaths to witches or elderly women.

Speaking during his *Central Regional Tour* at Apam Junction, the President said such deaths are often linked to undiagnosed or unmanaged health conditions that could have been detected early.

“Many families wrongly blame witches or elderly women whenever a loved one dies unexpectedly, when in reality the death may have resulted from an undiagnosed or unmanaged health condition due to the person’s failure to undergo regular medical check-ups,” he stated.

He used the example to stress the importance of *preventive healthcare*, urging citizens to make routine health screenings a priority to detect illnesses early and improve health outcomes.
