Takoradi MP Supports Brilliant Students With Educational Materials, Urges Them To Chase Greatness

The Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has supported brilliant young constituents in the constituency with educational materials to aid their academic journey.

The MP on Saturday, August 22, 2026, donated books, trunks and mattresses to students as part of his ongoing investment in education in Takoradi.

According to him, education remains the greatest equalizer that allows both the rich and the poor to achieve their dreams, hence his continued commitment to the sector.

"Education remains the bridge that ensures the daughter of the rich and the son of the poor can both claim equality in becoming whatever they dream to be. It is for this reason that I continue to invest in the Constituency by building schools, providing computers to public schools, offering scholarships, free vacation classes, supporting institutions like GSTS and Bompeh SHS, and working towards greater opportunities for every child," he said.

Hon. Darko-Mensah urged the beneficiaries to see the books as a reminder that hard work in learning pays off and that choosing education is choosing to chase greatness.

He further advised the students to build character anchored on honesty, humility, hard work and integrity, while developing financial literacy, entrepreneurial spirit and relevant skills for the future.

"As you use these trunks and mattresses to settle into school life, and as you turn the pages of these books, I urge you to also build a character of honesty, humility, hard work, and integrity," he added.

He assured students, parents and guardians that their dreams matter to him, encouraging them to stay focused and committed to their studies.

"To every student, parent, and guardian who received these items: you are not alone. Your dreams matter deeply to me. Keep studying hard, stay focused, and never stop chasing greatness. I remain proud to serve you," he said.
