Tragedy at Tech: 26-Year-Old Lawyer Sara Araba Tetteh Collapses and Dies Celebrating Ghana’s Win Over Panama

The legal community is in mourning after 26-year-old lawyer Sara Araba Tettey died from a suspected cardiac arrest while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama on Wednesday.
Ms. Tettey, a private legal practitioner with O & A Legal Consult, collapsed during post-match jubilations at Standard Hostel, Bomso, near the KNUST campus.
*Called to Bar Last October*
A graduate of the Faculty of Law at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ms. Tettey was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2025. Friends and colleagues described her as dedicated, professional, and a rising talent whose career had just begun.
*Collapsed During Celebrations*
According to Daily View Gh, Ms. Tettey was watching the match with friends when Ghana secured victory. Eyewitnesses told Daily View Gh’s Dan Kwasi Prince that she suddenly collapsed amid the excitement.
She was rushed to KNUST Hospital, also known as Tech Hospital. Medical staff reportedly performed CPR for about 45 minutes in an effort to revive her. She was pronounced dead shortly after.
*Shock in Legal Fraternity*
News of her death has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity, especially among KNUST law alumni and peers from the Ghana School of Law.
Affectionately called Araba Tettey, she was widely admired for her work ethic and potential. Many are describing her passing as the loss of a promising legal mind.
Her body has been deposited at the KNUST Medical School Mortuary as arrangements are made and investigations continue into the circumstances of her death.
