President Donald Trump delivered a blistering defense of Christianity and national sovereignty at the 81st United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, warning that Christians are facing unprecedented global persecution while international institutions turn a blind eye.
“Christians are being persecuted all over the world. It's not even believable. I never thought I'd say it, but it's been happening for a long time,” Trump told world leaders gathered in New York.
The President said the persecution is being carried out by the world's most repressive regimes, yet the UN's human rights establishment has refused to act.
*Trump: ICC is Rogue, All Members Should Resign*
In one of the strongest moments of his 57-minute address, Trump declared the International Criminal Court an “out-of-control rogue institution” with no jurisdiction over the United States.
He called on all member states to officially resign from the court and vowed that America will never allow its service members, officials, or allies to be put on trial by an anti-American globalist body.
*Slams Human Rights Council as “Craven Hypocrites”*
Trump accused the UN Human Rights Council of ignoring genuine atrocities, including the persecution of Christians, while spending its time attacking the United States for protecting children from transgender mutilation and for enforcing its immigration laws.
“They want America to open her borders to gangs and criminals from the world's most dangerous places,” Trump said. “There is no human right to illegal immigration, but there is a right to remain a sovereign nation.”
*No Global Government, No Global Taxes*
Rejecting what he called the “far-left agenda of globalist bureaucrats,” Trump announced his administration had intervened to stop the International Maritime Organization from imposing the first-ever global carbon tax, which he said would have raised global shipping costs by 10 to 20 percent.
“There is no global government, and while I am president, there will be NO GLOBAL TAXES,” he declared to applause.
President Trump closed his address with a call for nations to unite against the enemies of humanity and reject fear, defend their people, and build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous world.
