The Member of Parliament for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Worlase Kpeli Esq, on Tuesday joined a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia at the Ethiopian Embassy in Accra.
The visit was undertaken on behalf of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, to lay the foundation for a stronger Ghana-Ethiopia Parliamentary Friendship.
The maiden engagement, according to Hon. Kpeli, marks an important step towards deepening bilateral relations between the two countries through parliamentary diplomacy, democratic cooperation, policy exchange, and sharing of economic ideas and development experiences.
He said as MP for Kwahu Afram Plains North, he recognises the importance of such international engagements in creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, strengthening democratic institutions and exploring partnerships that can translate into meaningful development for constituencies.
Hon. Kpeli expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian Ambassador and officials of the Embassy for their warm reception and openness to collaboration.
He also thanked the Speaker for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to be part of the delegation.
"May this maiden engagement mark the beginning of a lasting partnership that strengthens the bonds of friendship between Ghana and Ethiopia and advances our shared aspirations for peace, democracy, economic transformation, and sustainable development," he said.
He added: "Ghana and Ethiopia: United in friendship, strengthened through parliamentary diplomacy, and committed to shared progress."
