The Court of Appeal has granted former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, access to certain documents related to their case. The couple, along with two others, faces charges of allegedly stealing GH¢49.1 million from the State. The Attorney General had previously provided some bank statements from Advantage Solutions Limited, a company owned by the couple, but omitted pages that the defense claims are crucial for their case. The trial court had dismissed a request from the defense to obtain these missing pages, stating that they could be presented later during witness statements. The defense argued that this ruling unfairly favored the prosecution and hindered their ability to present a complete case. They also noted that the couple could not access the missing bank statements due to a freeze imposed by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). In response to the appeal, a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal ordered the Attorney General to provide the missing pages of the bank statements, which are essential for the defense's case.
