The Oblogo Health Centre has received a major upgrade with the commissioning of a new Wellness and Adolescent Clinic, aimed at improving healthcare delivery for young people in the Weija Gbawe Municipality.
The facility, constructed by *Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib*, Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, was officially handed over to the health centre on *Friday, 7th August 2026*.
Delivering her welcome address at the event, the Weija Gbawe Municipal Health Director, *Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Mintah Andoh*, described the clinic as a timely intervention that will expand access to quality and adolescent-friendly health services.
According to Dr. Andoh, the new clinic directly responds to some of the most pressing health needs of adolescents in the municipality. She noted that the facility will also strengthen the broader wellness and preventive health agenda being pursued by the Municipal Health Directorate.
She praised Hon. Shaib for his investment in health infrastructure and his commitment to improving health outcomes in Weija Gbawe.
Dr. Andoh further assured stakeholders that the Directorate will take full responsibility for the smooth operation of the clinic.
"The Municipal Health Directorate will ensure that this clinic is adequately staffed, properly equipped, and well maintained to provide professional, respectful and compassionate care to all who access it," she said.
Health officials say the Wellness and Adolescent Clinic will offer a range of services including counseling, reproductive health education, preventive health education, and general wellness support. The goal is to create a safe and supportive space where young people can seek guidance on physical, emotional and social health issues.
The commissioning ceremony drew attendance from health officials, traditional rulers, community members, and other key stakeholders.
