The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has disclosed that the Agency has engaged, trained and deployed 11,788 beneficiaries under its Community Police Assistant module.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at supporting the Ghana Police Service and strengthening public safety.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, October 21, Mr. Basintale said the module forms part of YEA's broader efforts to create jobs for the youth while equipping them with practical experience in community service and security.
He explained that the Community Police Assistant module falls under YEA's Youth in Community Service and Security Module, which was developed to provide human resource support for the Police Service, while giving young people exposure to the security sector.
"The Community Police Assistant module is a project under the Youth Employment Agency, under our module termed as Youth in Community Service and Security Module, developed to provide human resource support for the Ghana Police Service, as well as provide the opportunity for the youth to experience the service and explore the possibilities of pursuing a career in the field while contributing to public safety," he said.
Mr. Basintale noted that beneficiaries under the programme have been professionally trained and oriented by the Ghana Police Service in line with its operational principles and requirements.
"Persons who are engaged in this module are professionally trained and oriented by the Ghana Police Service and adequately equipped with the needed logistics, skills, and professional expertise to support the country's overall security apparatus," he stated.
He added, "In this regard, I am happy to report that as of September 2026, the YEA engaged, trained and deployed a total of 11,788 beneficiaries under the Community Police Assistance Module."
