Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says all 8,000 newly recruited health workers should begin work by July as placement processes wrap up.
Speaking on the recruitment, Akandoh said government is ensuring a smooth onboarding and expects the remaining administrative work to be done this month. “I don’t want to give a specific date, but at the latest, I think by July we should be done with it,” he said. “We are looking at them starting work in July.”
To clear up confusion over postings and interviews, the Ministry will soon release the full list of recruits and their interview locations. “We are going to publish all the names and where they’ll be going for their interviews,” Akandoh noted. Recruits will be absorbed after completing the required steps.
He added that rural and underserved communities are a priority for deployment, targeting staffing gaps that still affect service delivery. The move is part of broader efforts to strengthen healthcare nationwide.
