Global Affairs Analyst and former Aide to former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Agbai Eke Agbai PhD, says Africa can achieve a single currency system like the European Union but the continent is failing because it is not speaking with one voice.
Dr. Agbai made the remarks on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM's Frontline Morning Show hosted by Kwabena Agyapong when asked why it has become difficult for Africa to have a common currency.
According to him, a single currency is achievable, citing the EU as an example.
"Look at European Union they have achieved it, why can't we achieve it?" he queried.
He blamed the lack of unity on external interference, arguing that Western powers do not want Africa to come together.
"But we are not speaking with one voice because the Western world does not want Africa to come together. Each time they see any leader that wants to bring Africa together they will eliminate you," Dr. Agbai stated.
