Highlife singer Akwaboah Jnr has dismissed reports claiming he’s having problems in his marriage, saying there is no truth to the rumors.
The “Obiaa” hitmaker said he’s used to public figures being picked apart, where even good moments can be twisted into gossip.
Recently, people linked his weight loss to trouble at home. Akwaboah cleared the air, saying his change in appearance has nothing to do with his wife. He explained that the stress and busy schedule that come with the music business can affect how one looks.
He stressed that he is healthy, happy, and enjoying his marriage. According to him, he and his wife have built a strong partnership over the years.
Akwaboah also defended his wife, who he said has been unfairly dragged into the conversation. He laughed off claims that she doesn’t take care of him, and instead praised her cooking.
For him, the real issue isn’t the rumors about him, but the fact that innocent family members get pulled into discussions whenever a celebrity is trending.
The singer said he prepared his wife for life in the spotlight even before they got married. That, he believes, has helped them handle pressure without letting outside noise affect their home.
Akwaboah and his wife dated for two years before tying the knot two years ago. He described her as both his partner and his best friend, and said the rumors haven’t caused any tension at home.
“Those who are close to us know the truth about our marriage better than people online,” he added.
