Ashanti NPP Constituency Chairmen Declare Solidarity With Chairman Wontumi After Conviction

The Ashanti Caucus of Constituency Chairmen of the NPP has expressed full solidarity with the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Hon. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, following his conviction handed down on Monday.

In a statement, the caucus described Wontumi as “the face of resilience, grassroots mobilization, and unwavering commitment to the NPP in the Ashanti Region,” adding that under his leadership the party in the region has remained “formidable, united, and victory-driven.”

“We stand in full solidarity with Chairman Wontumi and his family during this difficult time. You are not alone,” the statement said.

The chairmen said their support for the Regional Chairman “remains unshaken” and expressed belief in his integrity, service to the party, and dedication to the people of Ashanti and Ghana.

They also called on party faithful across the region to remain calm, law-abiding, and united. The caucus said it has confidence in the NPP’s Legal Directorate and in the team to pursue all available legal options.

The group further acknowledged the outpouring of support from party executives, MPs, and grassroots members nationwide, describing the current situation as “a test of our unity, and we will pass it.”

“Chairman Wontumi’s contributions to the growth and strength of the NPP in our stronghold cannot be erased by any single judgment. We remain resolute that truth and true justice will prevail, it's only a matter of time,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by Kofi Acheampong, Chairman/Dean, and Frederick Agyemang Mensah, Secretary of the Constituency Chairmen Caucus, Ashanti Region.

It concluded with the words: *Unity. Courage. Victory.*
