BAWUMIA LEADS NPP DELEGATION TO ASHANTI REGION OVER WONTUMI DEVELOPMENTS

Former Vice President and *NPP 2028 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia*, has led a party delegation to the Ashanti Region for a closed-door meeting with regional executives and stakeholders.
The meeting comes amid developments surrounding *Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako*, popularly known as *Chairman Wontumi*.
In attendance were key party figures including *former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu*, *Akuapem North MP Sammi Awuku*, and *Effiduase-Asokore MP Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie*.
Constituency executives and party elders were also present.
According to party sources, the meeting is expected to discuss the matter’s impact on the party in the region and chart the way forward.
Chairman Wontumi has been at the center of recent political discussions in the Ashanti Region, a key NPP stronghold.
The delegation’s engagement is seen as part of efforts to manage internal party affairs ahead of the 2028 elections.
