Hon. Alhaji Dr. Yusif Sulemana, Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has donated 500 bags of fertilizer to farmers in Larabanga.
The donation was presented on Sunday to executives of the Damongo Constituency for onward distribution to beneficiaries in the community.
Speaking during the handover, Dr. Sulemana said the gesture is to boost agricultural productivity and reduce the cost of farm inputs for farmers ahead of the planting season.
“Precise that's my mother's village. once again and to also donate about 500 bags of fertilizer for the distribution to farmers within this community.
Like I said this is my mother's home and so the last time I came here during the campaign they received me very well and so I thought that once a while I should also come back and show appreciation..
and to wish them well also encourage them to continue to work for our party. We do our best to see how we can help them in resolving some of their needs.”
He said agriculture remains the backbone of many households in the area, and that government and leaders must continue to support farmers with needed resources.
The Deputy Minister also pledged to work with the MP, DCE and Assembly Member to address other concerns raised by the community.
“I'm very impressed with some of the concerns, some of the needs of the community and very soon we will try to work together with other stakeholders to be able to solve some of the problems. I know they have an MP, I know they have a DCE, I know they have an assembly member, we will work together to ensure that we develop this community.”
