Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has paid a glowing tribute to the late Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, describing him as a resilient and focused leader.
Speaking at the final funeral rites in Bole, Dr. Sulemana said the late Council of State Member did not have it easy throughout his public life, facing chastisement and criticism, but remained steadfast and determined.
"Growing up and seeing him in this community, we can tell you that he didn't get it easy. Many were those who chastised him, many were those who criticized him... but he was resilient, he was focused, and that is what brought him this far," Dr. Sulemana said.
Tracing his career, the MP recalled the late Tingawura's service as bursar of Bole Senior High School, his tenure as District Chief Executive for Bole, his enstoolment as Tingawura, and his eventual election as the Savannah Region's representative on the Council of State.
He said despite political polarization and personal trials at each stage, the late chief stayed committed to service.
Dr. Sulemana said the appropriate response now is to celebrate his life and draw lessons from it.
"Today, what we should be doing is celebrating him and learning lessons from the life he led," he added.
