The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, *Dr. Yusif Sulemana*, has commended the *Bole Community Cooperative Credit Union* for its impact on poverty reduction and local economic growth as the institution marks 25 years.
Speaking through his spokesperson, *Mr. Iddisah Tahiru Omega*, at the Credit Union’s 25th Annual General Meeting, Dr. Sulemana said the Credit Union has been instrumental in creating sustainable jobs and providing credit to small and medium enterprises across the constituency.
According to him, many of the people currently employed by the bank would otherwise have joined the long list of job seekers in Bole-Bamboi. He added that by extending credit support to hundreds of traders, the bank is not only easing financial hardship but also boosting the local economy and helping constituents achieve financial independence.
“_The numerous individuals who have been engaged by the bank would have been part of the numerous job seekers on my list,_” the MP’s statement noted.
Dr. Sulemana however urged management to uphold high standards of professionalism and avoid decisions that could jeopardize the institution.
“_Should this Bank encounter any setback because of your actions, all those whose livelihoods depend on it will not forgive you,_” he cautioned.
Mr. Tahiru Omega also congratulated the Credit Union on reaching its silver jubilee milestone and reaffirmed the MP’s commitment to supporting the growth and stability of the bank in the years ahead.
