Bole Damba 2026: Gov't Unveils Major Projects, MP Accounts for Common Fund — President Donates GH¢100k

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Dr. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has led a government and NDC delegation to grace the grand durbar of the 2026 Bole Damba Festival on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Hon Sulemana, the delegation represented the President, who himself is a son of the Bole land, at the memorable cultural celebration held yesterday.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Bole, the MP highlighted a number of monumental development projects being undertaken by the Mahama government in the district, including road construction, health and educational infrastructure, rural electrification, sports and recreation facilities, among others.

He also used the occasion to render account of his stewardship and utilization of the MP's Common Fund to the constituents.

Hon Sulemana disclosed that his office has paid over GH¢200,000 in school fees for brilliant but needy students across the constituency, and committed another GH¢200,000 towards the establishment of a temporary campus of a Teacher Training College in Bole.

Other interventions, he noted, include the procurement of a new ambulance and a giant power plant for the Bole Hospital, and various individual support packages for constituents.

The MP further announced an upcoming mining-related educational fund to sponsor constituents who wish to pursue professional courses in mining at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), with calls for applications to be made soon after its official launch.

On behalf of President John Mahama, Hon Sulemana also pledged government support to the chiefs of Bole for the construction of a modern and befitting chief's palace for the Bole Traditional Area.

He underscored the need for peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups within the traditional area, urging all to acknowledge and respect their roles and limitations in order to sustain the relative peace and stability the area currently enjoys.

As part of the celebration, President Mahama donated a cash amount of GH¢100,000 to support the 2026 Damba festivities.

The MP was accompanied by the District Chief Executive for Bole, Hon Abdulai Mahmud, Presidential Aide Mahama Haruna, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Anti-Doping Agency Alhaji Sulemana Osman, Constituency Chairman Alhaji Alhassan Kassim and his executives, representatives of the Regional Executive Committee, and several NDC members from across the Savannah Region.
