Bole-Bamboi MP and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Dr Yusif Sulemana, has hailed the unity and rich cultural heritage of the Gonja people as they marked this year’s Damba festival.
The festival, held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, brought together traditional leaders, politicians, business leaders and people from across the country to celebrate with the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii Kunuto Jewu Soale I.
Hon. Sulemana described the celebration as a historic moment for Gonjaland, noting that it drew people from far and near to honour the kingdom and its traditions.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and the President’s Legal Adviser, Marietta Brew-Oppong, represented President John Mahama, while Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, was Guest of Honour.
He ended his message with a prayer for the prosperity of Ghana and Gonjaland, saying “Long live our country Ghana, long live Gonjaland.”
