The Ghana Women's Movement has declared a nationwide women's demonstration dubbed *"Women's Voices Matter"* scheduled for *Tuesday, 29th September 2026*.
According to a statement sighted by this portal and signed by Convener Janet Asana Nabla, the demonstration will bring together women from political parties, markets, salons, dressmaking shops, offices and homes, with male sympathisers welcome.
The group says it is deeply concerned about what it describes as increasing intimidation, arrests, remand and imprisonment of Ghanaian women in connection with the exercise of their freedom of expression.
"We, the women of Ghana... are coming together to demand justice, equality, dignity and the protection of our constitutional rights. Women cannot remain silent while other women are arrested, detained and imprisoned for speaking their minds," the statement said.
The Movement says *"Enough is enough"* and that Ghanaian women have voices, opinions and political rights to participate in national affairs.
As part of the demonstration, the group will present a petition to *Vice President Her Excellency Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang*. The petition will outline concerns and demands for dignity, equality, freedom of expression, women’s empowerment and equal treatment.
*Key Demands:*
