The family of late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, says God has been their source of strength one year after the helicopter crash that took his life and seven others.
Speaking at a national inter-faith memorial service on Thursday, August 6, family representative Charles Ohene Oti said the last 12 months have been filled with grief.
“God has sustained us with strength, comfort and hope through this difficult year,” he told the gathering.
Mr. Oti said the families still feel the absence of their fathers, husbands, sons and brothers, but they are grateful for the service and legacy the eight victims left for Ghana.
He also thanked religious leaders for their support.
“We appreciate the pastors, imams and all who have stood with us in prayer and guidance since this tragedy,” he added.
The service marked one year since the GAF Z-9 helicopter crashed in Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region while en route from Accra.
