The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, says he is devastated by the death of his personal assistant, Kofi Nti, describing him as humble, loyal and a man of integrity.
Kofi Nti died on Saturday in a head-on collision on the Akyem Oda–Nkwanta road. He was traveling in a Nissan Navara pickup with registration number GT 2639-24 with three others to Oda Nkwanta to assist in resolving disputes over the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station elections when the accident occurred. He died on the spot, while the three other occupants sustained severe injuries and are currently on admission.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM's Frontline with host Kwabena Agyapong, the MP said he has lost more than an aide.
"I cherished this young man so well because he was an exceptional and brilliant man. He was a gem and competent. He served with integrity, decency, credibility, and passion. He was a brother, my IT specialist, and everything," he said.
According to the legislator, Kofi Nti was multi-talented and handled several critical roles in his office, and his absence has created a huge void.
"If you’re looking for something that has devastated me politically, it is this one. He was a multi-talented man, and due to his demise, five people are now doing the things he used to do for me," he added.
Mr Acquah described the late aide as humble and of good character.
"Let me repeat that I have lost a loyal person, and I cannot forget about it. I don’t usually remember dates and events, but his demise has left a memorable moment in my mind. He was humble, had good character, and I pray God will grant him peace and rest in His bosom," he said.
