The Acting Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Ing. Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, has emphasized the need for accountability regarding serious findings from the African Games audit report. During an interview on JoyNews' Newsfile, he highlighted that the Local Organising Committee (LOC) allegedly awarded 55 single-source contracts without proper justification, with eight contracts receiving approval from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) only after the procurement processes had already occurred. Dr. Kevor raised concerns about compliance with procurement regulations and the effectiveness of oversight mechanisms in public institutions, noting that the report indicates outstanding liabilities of approximately GH¢280 million. He underscored the importance of adhering to stringent procurement and financial management procedures that public officials must follow. Dr. Kevor urged those implicated in the audit findings to respond formally to the allegations before Parliament, rather than issuing blanket denials. He stressed that the issues raised are too significant to be overlooked and require thorough investigation and accountability from those involved.
