The Convener of Nkrumafest 2026 and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has called on Ghanaians to use the celebration to reflect on Nkrumah's contribution and renew their commitment to his ideals.
Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah said Nkrumafest should not be reduced to a ceremony of remembrance but should provide an opportunity to assess whether Ghana and Africa are building the society Nkrumah envisioned.
He pointed to major institutions and infrastructure projects associated with Nkrumah's era, including the Akosombo Dam, Tema Harbour, Adomi Bridge and universities, saying such long-term investments demonstrated the importance of developing projects for future generations rather than only for immediate political interests.
He said Nkrumah's vision was not limited to Ghana's independence but extended to the liberation and unity of Africa.
