"No Discussion of GHC55 Million With Me" - Dennis Miracles Aboagye Denies EOCO Allegations

Former Government Spokesperson and NPP Communications hopeful, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has broken his silence days after his arrest and detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office, EOCO, declaring that the incident has only strengthened his resolve to serve the party.

In a statement issued after his release, Mr. Aboagye said he was picked up by EOCO four days ago, just one day after he declared his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party.

"FOR THE RECORDS: THERE WAS NO DISCUSSION OF ANY GHC55MILLION CEDIS WITH ME BY EOCO. None!!!" he stated, dismissing reports that linked his arrest to an alleged GHC55 million matter.

Mr. Aboagye thanked NPP supporters who protested and raised their voices following his detention.

"From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall. You did not just defend Dennis Miracles Aboagye; you defended the principle that no voice can be intimidated into silence," he said.

He further asserted that attempts to intimidate him had failed.

"Let me be clear: if the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly. I will lead the New Patriotic Party’s Communications Directorate to command the narrative, and no cell, no false story, no intimidation will change that. Fuel, has only been added to fire," he added.

Concluding his statement, Mr. Aboagye expressed gratitude to his legal team, party leadership and supporters, saying: "This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours. We move. Stronger. Louder. Together. Built to Lead. Ready to Win."

The arrest sparked protests by some NPP supporters who described it as politically motivated. EOCO is yet to issue an official statement on the basis for Mr. Aboagye’s detention.
