The Parliament of Ghana will officially open its first-ever Parliamentary Museum to the public on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
This was announced in a press release issued by the Parliamentary Service on September 17, 2026, and signed by the Director of Media Relations, David Sebastian Damoah.
According to the statement, the museum is a landmark legacy project of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S. K. Bagbin, and reflects his dedication to deepening public understanding of, and engagement with Ghana's parliamentary history and institutions.
The Museum will be open to visitors from Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00am and 4:30pm.
To book a visit, the public is directed to visit Parliament's official website, http://www.parliament.gh, click on "Visit," then "Museum," and complete and submit the form provided. Applicants will be notified by message once their request is approved.
The release stated that the museum houses a curated collection tracing the evolution of Ghana's Parliament, including historical photographs, documents and records of past proceedings, artifacts and memorabilia belonging to former Speakers, archival material on the Legislative Council and Ghana's constitutional milestones, ceremonial and symbolic items associated with the institution, and interactive multimedia exhibits on the law-making process and the history of governance.
It noted that the museum will serve as a valuable resource for the general public, students and researchers, tourists and cultural visitors, Members of Parliament and staff, as well as international partners and fellow legislatures.
"With this Museum, Parliament renews its commitment to openness, to public education, and to keeping the record of the nation's legislative history intact for generations to come," the statement added.
