Lawyers for Hon. Sammy Gyamfi, Esq. have issued a legal notice* warning media houses and individuals to stop publishing allegations linking him to one Mr. Dominic Bonsu and a supposed GH₵200 million Ghana Gold Board scandal.
In a statement dated August 5, 2026, and signed by *Eugene Asiedu Offei Esq. of AOC Legal*, the legal team described the reports circulating on traditional and social media as "entirely false, malicious, reckless and devoid of any factual or legal basis."
The lawyers said the claims allege that Mr. Dominic Bonsu was or is Hon. Gyamfi’s bodyguard and that he absconded with GH₵200 million belonging to the Ghana Gold Board.
For the avoidance of doubt, the notice stated three key clarifications:
1. *Hon. Sammy Gyamfi has never met, known, engaged or maintained any personal or professional relationship with Mr. Dominic Bonsu.*
2. *Mr. Bonsu has never served as the bodyguard, employee, agent or associate of Hon. Gyamfi.*
3. *The allegation that Mr. Bonsu absconded with GH₵200 million from the Ghana Gold Board is false and fabricated.*
The lawyers further stated that neither Hon. Gyamfi nor the Ghana Gold Board entrusted, transferred or paid any public funds to Mr. Bonsu. They also noted that the fact that Dominic Bonsu Ventures may hold a licence from the Gold Board does not establish any relationship between Mr. Bonsu and their client.
The firm has placed all persons on formal notice to *immediately cease and desist* from publishing, republishing or circulating the allegations.
They warned that each fresh publication will constitute a separate actionable wrong, and their client reserves the right to commence civil proceedings for general, aggravated and exemplary damages, injunctive relief, and costs against any person or entity involved.
*“Our Client has instructed us to institute all necessary civil legal proceedings... against any person or entity that publishes, republishes or disseminates these false and defamatory allegations,”* the notice concluded.
