The Teshie District Police Commander, DSP Elvis Ntow Amanor, has cautioned ride-hailing service drivers to be vigilant when accepting trip requests, especially at certain hours and in certain locations.
Speaking during a community engagement with drivers, DSP Amanor said every part of the community needs to be protected, but drivers must be conscious of the risks associated with some trips.
"What I will tell these drivers is that they should be conscious when they are accepting trips. They should look at the hour and then some areas," he said.
He singled out the Teshie Maami area as one that requires extra caution.
"I will say Maami - Maami is a little problematic. So they should look at the area and then the hour," DSP Amanor added.
He urged drivers to assess both the destination and the time of the request before accepting, to ensure their own safety while on duty.
