The Ghana National Gas Company has rejected social media claims of tension between Chief Executive Officer Judith Adjobah Blay and its Board of Directors, calling the reports false and designed to sow division.
In a statement issued Saturday, June 6, management said there is no conflict between the Board, chaired by Kofi Totobi Quakyi, and the executive team. Both sides, it said, continue to work closely with mutual respect and professionalism.
The company described the feud allegations as “entirely false” and part of attempts by unnamed actors to create controversy and weaken confidence in its leadership. It stressed that its governance structure remains stable and focused on its energy sector mandate.
Management also addressed public concern over recent staff promotions. It clarified that 50 employees were promoted under a structured internal process meant to resolve long-overdue career progression, realign divisions, and support staff development.
The exercise, Ghana Gas said, followed extensive internal consultations and had the Board’s oversight and support. It dismissed claims that the process was irregular or had sparked internal tension.
The company further pointed to operational gains, noting that gas production throughput has risen from a historic average of about 100 million standard cubic feet per day to roughly 120 million.
That increase, management said, has strengthened fuel supply to downstream users, improved national energy security, and helped stabilise the power sector while moderating fuel costs for power producers and industry.
Ghana Gas reaffirmed that both Board and management remain committed to transparency, accountability, and strong corporate governance, and will continue to advance the company’s strategic goals and Ghana’s wider energy development agenda.
